Setup
Stand tall with the EZ-bar in the grip that feels most comfortable for your wrists. Keep your elbows beside your torso and brace your core.
Start phase
Keep your shoulders from rising and curl the bar with your biceps. The EZ-bar angle reduces wrist strain, so focus on your biceps contracting.
End phase
Lower the bar slowly so your biceps lengthen fully. Control the speed instead of dropping tension when your arms extend.
Target muscles
Think of pulling the bar up with your biceps. The comfortable grip makes it easier to focus on your arms without momentum, so lower the weight if your shoulders move.
Common mistakes
Adding too much weight because your wrists feel comfortable eventually brings in lower-back momentum. A comfortable grip supports accurate reps; it is not a reason to add weight.
Breathing
Exhale as you lift and inhale as you lower. Steady breathing also helps keep your elbows in place.
Coach tip
The EZ-bar is comfortable for your wrists but can sway side to side. Check each rep to make sure the bar rises to the same height along your body’s center.
