Setup
Grip the handles and place both knees on the assistance pad. Keep your shoulders down and your torso steady and upright.
Start phase
Bend your elbows slowly, keeping them close to your body. Lower only as far as your shoulders feel comfortable.
End phase
Press into the handles and straighten your elbows to raise your body. Keep your knees on the pad.
Target muscles
Focus on your triceps as you press your body up. Your chest and front shoulders assist.
Common mistakes
Do not swing or shrug your shoulders. Control the speed so you do not bounce off the pad.
Breathing
Inhale as you lower and exhale as you rise.
Coach tip
Log the assistance weight. More assistance makes the movement easier, so increase it if your form becomes unstable.
