Setup
Sit on a bench with your forearms on your thighs and hold the dumbbells with your palms down. Fix your elbows and upper arms so only your wrists can move freely.
Start phase
Lift your wrists and gently curl the dumbbells upward. Keep your forearms still; the movement comes only from your wrists.
End phase
Lower the dumbbells slowly to lengthen your wrists. Do not suddenly release tension at the bottom.
Target muscles
Think of lifting with the top of your forearms, toward the backs of your hands. Keep the small movement focused there.
Common mistakes
If your elbows lift or your forearms leave your thighs, forearm tension shifts. Keep the small wrist-only range even with a light weight.
Breathing
Exhale as you lift and inhale as you lower. Keep breathing even through the short movement.
Coach tip
Because the range is small, slow reps without momentum work best. For forearms, accurate reps and balanced sides matter more than weight.
