Setup
Place your feet in the center of the pedals and hold the handles comfortably. Open your chest and look forward.
Start phase
Let your arms and legs move together in a smooth gliding motion. Keep your stride consistent and continue without impact.
End phase
Gradually lower the resistance and speed to finish. Shorten your range of motion while your heart rate settles.
Target muscles
Feel your whole body connect through a smooth movement. Focus on your glute and hamstring rhythm instead of impact through your knees.
Common mistakes
Lifting your heels increases stress on your ankles. Keep contact with the entire pedal.
Breathing
Let your breathing lengthen as your movement becomes smoother. Keep breathing continuously even when your arms and legs move together.
Coach tip
Find a stride that feels comfortable for your body rather than using an overly large range. A comfortable rhythm is easier to sustain.
