Setup
Stand in the center of the belt and lift your chest comfortably. Touch the handles lightly only if your balance feels uncertain.
Start phase
Land softly on your heel and push off through your toes. Do not overstride; keep your rhythm consistent.
End phase
Lower the speed one step at a time to finish. End with slow walking to settle your heart rate.
Target muscles
Feel your glutes and calves take turns driving each step. Relax your upper body and focus on your walking rhythm.
Common mistakes
Holding the handles tightly throughout can disrupt your walking pattern. Once your balance is steady, let your hands swing naturally.
Breathing
Inhale and exhale slowly over every two or three steps. Keeping a steady tempo matters more than breathing quickly.
Coach tip
When using an incline, lean slightly from your ankles rather than bending your torso. This helps you use your glutes more effectively.
