Setup
Stand with your feet much wider than shoulder width and toes slightly out. Keep your chest open and hands in front or on your thighs.
Start phase
Bend one knee and shift your weight to that side. Keep the opposite leg straight and feel the inner thigh stretch.
End phase
Push the floor away to return to center, then move rhythmically to the other side. Use leg strength instead of momentum.
Target muscles
Notice the straight-leg inner thigh and bent-leg thigh and glutes work in turn. The working area should change naturally side to side.
Common mistakes
A collapsed torso or inward knee increases knee stress. Reduce the travel distance while keeping alignment.
Breathing
Inhale as you lower and exhale as you return. Match your breath to the movement.
Coach tip
Start with a small range and widen it as you get comfortable. Keep the movement smooth and controlled.
