Setup
Grip the handles with both hands and place your feet hip-width apart. Lift your chest and bend your knees slightly.
Start phase
Brace your core and pull the handles down. Use your shoulders and lats together as you fold your torso.
End phase
Return the handles overhead and come back to the starting position. Maintain a steady tempo without using momentum.
Target muscles
Feel your lats and core connect as you pull. Create the rhythm with your whole torso rather than using only your arms.
Common mistakes
Rounding your back too much quickly increases fatigue. Maintain a neutral spine and adjust your range of motion.
Breathing
Exhale as you pull and inhale as you return. Keep your breathing rhythm steadier as the distance increases.
Coach tip
Prioritize maintaining your pace over using high intensity at first. Build distance on top of a stable tempo.
