Sled Push · Preview
Setup
Grip the handles firmly and lean your torso forward. Place your feet hip-width apart and brace your core and glutes.
Start phase
Drive the sled forward with short, powerful steps. Keep your torso angle steady and think about pushing the floor backward.
End phase
Gradually slow down and shorten your steps. Finish with your torso controlled so you do not pitch forward after the sled stops.
Target muscles
Feel your quads, glutes, and core work together as you move forward. Think of driving with your legs and torso rather than pushing with your arms.
Common mistakes
Standing too tall or arching your back reduces drive and increases lower-back strain. Push the handles while keeping your ribs down and torso angle steady.
Breathing
Breathe in and out rhythmically rather than stopping every few steps. Keep your breathing tempo consistent over longer distances.
Coach tip
First establish consistent steps and a steady torso angle before adding weight. Then increase the load, distance, or time once your form is stable.
