Kneeling Hip Flexor Stretch · Preview
Setup
Kneel on one knee with the opposite foot forward in a lunge. Keep your torso tall and rest both hands on the front thigh.
Start phase
Slowly drive your pelvis forward and shift your weight forward. Move until you feel a stretch at the front of the back-leg hip.
End phase
Hold at the deepest comfortable stretch and keep breathing. Do not force farther.
Target muscles
Feel the hip flexor at the front of the back leg lengthen. A pull at the front of the hip, not the lower back, is a good sign.
Common mistakes
Folding forward or arching your back shifts the load to your lower back. Keep your torso tall and drive only the pelvis forward.
Breathing
Exhale as you drive forward and breathe comfortably while holding. Feel the pull ease with each exhale.
Coach tip
Find a comfortable pull, not pain. Hold for 20~30 seconds, then match the time on the other side.
