Quad Foam Rolling · Preview

STEP 1

Setup

Lie face down with the foam roller under the front of your thigh and support yourself on your forearms. Brace your abs lightly to keep your lower back from arching.

STEP 2

Start phase

Roll slowly from above the knee toward the pelvis. Sweep along the full quad and slow down over sensitive spots.

STEP 3

End phase

Slowly roll back down. Reduce the range or work one side at a time if pressure is too strong.

STEP 4

Target muscles

Notice the front of the thigh releasing and stiff areas easing. Keep pressure even across the quad.

STEP 5

Common mistakes

Arching your back or rolling quickly can tense the lower back. Brace your abs, move slowly, and keep pressure steady.

STEP 6

Breathing

Exhale as you roll and inhale when you pause. Deep breathing helps release quad tension.

STEP 7

Coach tip

One leg at a time gives you more precise pressure control. Sweep broadly after training and use a narrower range on stiff days.
