Lateral Incline Chest Press Machine · Preview
Setup
Sit deep against the pad and align the handles with the outer upper chest. Keep the chest open, grip firmly, and plant your feet.
Start phase
Press up and forward, letting the handles come naturally inward. Think of driving through the upper chest.
End phase
Return slowly so the upper chest lengthens. Don't let the shoulders round forward as the weight pulls.
Target muscles
Bring the elbows together on a diagonal as you press. If the arms dominate, lower the weight and find the upper-chest drive.
Common mistakes
A low seat or wide elbows makes the front delts fatigue first. Check that the handles begin level with the upper chest.
Breathing
Exhale on the press and inhale on the return. Keep the breath smooth rather than cutting it short.
Coach tip
Slow the return by 1 second to intensify the upper-chest stretch. Following the path matters even with light weight.
