Wide Leg Press · Preview
Setup
Keep your back and pelvis against the backrest and place your feet wider than shoulder width on the platform. Point your knees in the same direction as your toes.
Start phase
Release the safety stops and bend your knees to lower the platform slowly. Stop before your pelvis rolls off the backrest.
End phase
Press through your whole feet to straighten your knees. Avoid forcefully locking them at the top.
Target muscles
Push with your quads and glutes. The wide stance also involves your adductors and hamstrings.
Common mistakes
Avoid letting your knees collapse inward or lifting your hips off the backrest.
Breathing
Inhale as you lower and exhale as you press up.
Coach tip
Prioritize a comfortable range even with a wider stance. Secure the safety stops when you finish the set.
